Silo is one of the best dystopias that have come directly to the small screen in recent years, and one of the most remarkable titles of the year. An Apple TV+ fiction that needed this platform after bringing some of the best series of 2022(Pachinko, Slow Horses, Separation), and falling behind in 2023 with quite a few form titles.
The creator of the series is veteran Graham Yost(The Americans, Blood Brothers), and the directors include Norwegian Morten Tyldum(The Imitation Game).
The fiction takes time to develop each character, with a splendid cast led by Rebecca Fergusson, accompanied by actors such as Tim Robbins and David Oyelowo.
The production design is very ambitious and immersive for the viewer, as is the soundtrack by Atli Örvarsson. This survival story has very measured twists and turns that allow the viewer to notice the details that make the story a dramatic entity.
The 10 chapters could easily be reduced to 7 or 8, but the pace does not slacken and the story finally offers interesting readings on freedom and social organization in apocalyptic times.
