Putin has become the new Hitler in recent weeks by invading Ukraine to planetary astonishment. This BBC docuseries is from 2020 but is still very topical. It is not easy to get to know Putin, a man raised in one of the cradles of evil and secrecy: the Soviet KGB, even so, these three 45-minute chapters provide a lot of information. The documentary base is excellent, something usual in the British production company: interview of victims' relatives, Putin's colleagues, press conferences of the president. The selection is sensational, from one of his first public appearances as president to defend the sorry handling of the Kursk, to accusations of influencing the U.S. election.
There is a lot of talk about Putin these days and the misinformation is obvious and biased. It cannot be said that the BBC has the single truth or the least biased point of view, but it is clear that this docuseries that can be seen on Movistar offers the viewer a fairly complete approach to the Russian 21st century that has brought us to a historic moment of international tension.
