We started working on the Influencers Trust Label (ITL) project.

Jul 1, 2020 | Media Literacy, Projects, Audiovisual Sector

Social media has become the leading source of online news with more than 2.4 billion Internet users, nearly 64.5% get breaking news from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram rather than through traditional media outlets.

The relevant role of influencers in the propagation of fake news requires the creation of new actions that will take into account not only the information experts of each country, but also the influencers.

Given this scenario, the project INFLUENCERS TRUST LABEL arises with the aim of increasing the level of media literacy in Europe, through the development of new and innovative methodologies in the different EU countries based on a technical and educational tool to counteract the spread of fake news through RRSS.

iCmedia will be the project coordinator, with the participation of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, YouthProaktiv and the collaboration of New Link.
